"He will surely violently turn and toss thee like a ball into a large country:
there shalt thou die, and there the chariots of thy glory shall
be the shame of thy lord's house."

Interesting Facts: The World Series will be shown in
13 languages and 229 Countries & Terrorities

As a Christian, every part of our life should reflect the light from our relationship with the
Lord and leave a shadow. You don't have to be a Pastor or Missionary to share your faith with
others. Use the World Series games as an opportunity to fellowship with church members or
neighbors. Sports can be a wonderful opportunity to share your faith with others. If you are
with believers then you can share what the Lord is doing in your life and answers to prayer.

Jesus admonished us to be the "light of the world" and not to "hide our light under a barrel".
We are also to be "salt" of the world. Salt is for seasoning. Some people don't use salt and
others tend to over-salt. Unfortunately some people won't even taste the food before they salt
and pepper it. A little here and a little there to taste is much better then dumping the whole
salt shaker on someone's head. If you are living your life with the Lord in control then people
will see that there is something different about you. They will be drawn like magnets and
hopefully you won't repel them by what you say. The Lord makes the 'divine appointments' for
you and will help you with just the right words to share.

This year as you are watching the World Series use it as an opportunity to pray for the
athletes. If you prefer you can use silent prayer and it will work just the same as spoken prayer.
Whether you are in a room full of people or alone you can still pray for the players and no one
will be the wiser. Pray for their Salvation, their relationship with the Lord, their health &
safety, their marriages, kids and families. You can also do the same for everyone in the room
with you and even for yourself. We all need prayer. Someone was once
asked if they could pray for them and the reply was:
"I need the prayer and you need the practice."

Enjoy each Game and don't eat too much!!!!!

Part of the History of Baseball:

Source: Compton's Encyclopedia

The First World Series was in 1903:
"The annual post-season competition in professional baseball in the United
States is called the World Series. The games are played between the
champions of the American League and the National League, alternatingly in the
teams' home stadiums. The winner in four out of seven games becomes
the world champion team.
The first World Series was held in 1903, when the Boston team of the
American League defeated the Pittsburgh team of the National League.

There was no game in 1904, but the series has been an annual event since
1905--even in wartime. When the number of teams was expanded in both
leagues in the early 1960s, each league was divided into two regional divisions,
and a playoff series between the winners of each league division was inserted
between the end of the regular season and the World Series. These playoffs,
originally five games but now seven, were needed to determine
the league championships."
